Chapter 8:
"You've said so much, are you saying that the corpse in the yard was done by your daughter?" In the narrow interrogation room, under the bright light, Officer Liu narrowed his eyes, his gaze as sharp as a wolf's.
Nervously, I said, "It must be her." The female officer next to him glanced at me, her expression full of complexity.
Officer Liu looked at his wristwatch.
"An hour, I've listened to the story of a demon girl from birth to disappearance, very intriguing." "Thank you for listening to me for so long." I put my hands on my knees and tightly grabbed my skirt, "But this isn't a story, everything is real." Officer Liu smiled.
I nervously stared at him, unsure of what else he wanted to ask.
This morning, a group of police suddenly rushed into my house and brought me to the police station for a "chat", and later they dug up a highly decomposed corpse in my yard.
I have no idea what's going on.
After Mu Yin left me, I took care of my husband alone at home, and life was relatively calm.
Without our daughter, the two of us, my husband and I, supported each other.
Even though he is paralyzed in bed and unable to move, I don't resent him.
I think, when medical technology advances, I will take him to the hospital, maybe he will be able to move by then! At that time, we will live a normal life, without wanting children, just the two of us.
But the arrival of the police shattered the tranquility.
There was a corpse buried in my yard, and I have no idea when it happened!
Officer Liu said, "You said that your daughter killed the twins in the womb and almost drained you, and that she would bite you when she was born, poke her grandmother's eyes with chopsticks at the age of two, stab you with a knife at three, throw a kitchen knife at a child at four, push a child down the stairs at five, and killed a little girl at the age of eight." I gently corrected him, "She didn't poke her grandmother's eyes, her grandmother just has reduced vision." Officer Liu smiled, "Well, she almost poked her grandmother's eyes, and then she caused your husband to have a car accident and be paralyzed in bed.
So, for an eleven-year-old child to kill an adult, it seems logical, doesn't it?" I tightened my lips, "It wasn't her, then who else could it be?" Officer Liu sneered, "Why can't it be you?" I hurriedly said, "It couldn't be me! Why would I want to kill someone?" Officer Liu said, "The person who died was the driver you hated the most, so you had every reason to kill him." "It wasn't me, it was Muyin! Only someone inherently bad could do such a thing!" I slammed the table and shouted.
Officer Liu remained unmoved, "Alright, would you like to meet your daughter?" "Muyin?" I paused, "Have you found Muyin?" "Of course, you can meet her," Officer Liu said, nodding to the female officer next to him.
The door to the small interrogation room opened soon after, and the female officer walked in with a small figure.
The light illuminated her face.
The girl was very thin, with sunken cheeks, giving her a skeletal appearance.
Her hair was dry and yellow, as if she had suffered greatly.
"Where have you been?" Seeing Muyin in such a miserable state, I couldn't help but feel heartbroken.
"Do you know how worried Mom was after you left?" I said with red eyes, "Dad said it was dangerous for you to be alone outside.
He asked me to find you, but he's paralyzed in bed and needs someone to take care of him, so I didn't go to find you..." My daughter looked at me with a strange, painful, and fearful look in her eyes.
After a while, she hoarsely said, "Wake up, please." She stared at me intently, tears flowing from her hollow eye sockets, her lips trembling as she said, "Dad!"
