Chapter 3.
After leaving the bar, I suddenly felt relieved.
Finally, it's over.
On the streets, couples embraced each other, adults held hands with children, and groups of friends chatted and laughed.
The world was still noisy.
Suddenly, it started pouring rain, and the crowd dispersed.
I, being oblivious, walked in the rain alone for a long time.
I didn't know where to go until I got tired and squatted down, burying my head between my knees.
The coldness spread from my chest, and from now on, I truly am alone.
Damn, my stomach hurts! I don't know how long passed, but an umbrella covered me from above, keeping the cold rain away.
I looked up, not feeling sad, but tears naturally flowed down from my eyes.
In the blurry light, I saw a familiar young man.
The flickering light was piercing to the eyes.
The young man lowered his head, his forehead and mouth were deeply wounded, clearly just finishing a fight with someone else.
He tilted the umbrella towards me, completely drenched in the pouring rain, his hand on the side tightly clenched into a fist.
He reached out to wipe away the tears from the corner of my eye, but I coldly turned my head away.
His cold, pale hand froze in mid-air, instinctively curling and then loosening, as the rainwater slipped through his fingers, falling like a broken thread.
"Su Su, I'm sorry," his voice trembled and became hoarse.
"I'm late again."
"A pale lightning bolt, as if tearing through a rift in time and space.
Before, every time I was bullied, Jiang Yu would come to save me.
Looking at me covered in injuries, filled with regret and self-blame, he would apologize to me over and over again, feeling more upset than if he was the one hurt.
During the worst moments of being bullied, I didn't cry, but in his gentle embrace, I couldn't help but cry.
