Chapter 2
I packed my things and went downstairs to have dinner, just in time to hear my biological mother sigh.
"Ai, we can't blame her.
No one taught her, she has a wild temperament.
She just needs to change in the future." My father sighed even louder.
"Unlike Qingya, who grew up by our side since she was young, well-mannered and cultured.
I'm just worried that the child has some resentment in her heart, and Qingya will suffer in the future." They stopped talking when they saw me coming down.
At the dinner table, they discussed about sending me to school, which was also the purpose of my return.
There aren't many schools in the mountains, and I didn't receive much education.
I know I can't get into a university by relying on myself, but my grandma told me before she passed away that studying is important.
My biological parents are directors of a university and donated a large sum of money, allowing me to study there.
"Yuling, what major do you want to study?" I raised my head in confusion.
"What is a major?" Jiang Qingya chuckled and covered her mouth with her hand.
"Sister doesn't even know this? You definitely didn't listen well in high school classes.
It's okay, just study the same major as me, sister." My parents frowned unhappily.
I put down my chopsticks.
"I haven't attended high school.
There's only one middle school in the mountains, and it takes two hours to climb there every day.
Later, the school collapsed halfway through my studies, so I didn't finish middle school either." Everyone was stunned, and my mother burst into tears.
"I'm so sorry! What hardships has my poor child endured!" My father's eyes turned red with guilt.
"Yuling, you've suffered.
Here, eat more." Jiang Qingya squeezed her palms, her face turning pale.
