Chapter 5
Daxi Heng opened his mouth, following my gaze, and touched the hairpin in his hair bun.
He thought that I had seen this old item and changed my mind, so his smile grew bigger.
He tilted his head, like a loyal puppy, leaned in gently, and said in a coquettish manner, "Shizun, did you see it? The hairpin you gave me, I have been wearing it all this time, and I have been taking good care of it." "I didn't wear it before because I was afraid it would get damaged in a fight.
Now that I wear it, it's not because of the Revival Pill inside—I can't bear to destroy the gift you gave me, and besides, who in the world can hurt me now?" His fingers slowly caressed the hairpin, murmuring softly, "I wear it because it feels like Shizun is patting my head.
I miss you, to the point of madness." I reached out my hand towards him.
Daxi Heng smiled, his eyes even slightly raised, and he quickly lowered his head, leaning in, waiting for my touch.
However, instead of caressing his hair, my fingers lightly pulled out the hairpin.
His black hair scattered and fell on his dirty black cloak.
He looked at me confusedly, saying, "Shi..." "Crack!" The jade hairpin shattered.
I broke open the jade hairpin and took out the Revival Pill inside, casually throwing away the broken jade.
His pupils contracted abruptly, and he actually stood frozen in place.
After a few seconds, he hurriedly tried to stop me.
"Shizun, Shizun, please don't! I'm perfectly fine! I don't need the Revival Pill!" He anxiously untied his cloak, knelt on the ground, and disregarding the dirt, used his pampered hands to gather the broken pieces of the hairpin inside the cloak.
"It's fine, it can be repaired." He comforted himself, touching the crack in the hairpin and softly saying, "Shizun, are you punishing me? I understand.
As long as you can forgive me, whatever you do to me, whether it's hitting me or scolding me, I'll accept it." However, in the next moment, his words abruptly stopped.
He stared at my hand in disbelief.
Because, I had actually fed the Revival Pill, which was meant for him, to his mortal enemy.
Daxi Heng knelt in the bloody rain, straightened his body, as if a knife had been stabbed into his abdomen, deeply piercing and painfully stirring his organs.
He had no expression, but his body couldn't stop trembling.
