Chapter 11:
The days passed day by day.
My physical condition worsened.
Jiang Yu never actively reached out to me again.
I flipped through the calendar, calculating the little time left.
Until I received a text from Tang Chu.
He invited me to attend a banquet and added, "Ah Zhe, Sister Yu is really worried about you.
Take this opportunity to ease the relationship between you siblings." His talent for feigning ignorance is always top-notch.
I looked at the calendar and decided to go.
In the splendid hall, well-dressed people came and went, and the sounds of clinking glasses merged with the noisy crowd, creating a festive atmosphere.
Being alone for too long, suddenly being exposed to such a lively occasion, I felt a bit uncomfortable.
Not far away, Jiang Yu and Tang Chu stood together, chatting with others.
Jiang Yu glanced at me, her expression changed, her face slightly turned towards me, waiting for me to come over and initiate a conversation.
But I refused to go over.
Tang Chu turned around and saw me.
He immediately smiled and walked towards me, but I turned around and decisively left the bustling banquet hall.
The wind on the balcony was strong.
I leaned against the edge of the balcony, listening to the laughter and voices coming from the banquet hall behind me, only calculating how long it would take to end and go home.
Suddenly, my back was held by someone, and I fell into a stranger's embrace.
The overwhelming scent of perfume instantly surrounded me, and the urge to vomit surged up within me.
I endured the discomfort and pushed away the stranger who appeared suddenly, only to coincidentally see Tang Chu standing behind her.
He was wearing a handsome tuxedo and winked at me.
The phone in the small bag vibrated lightly, and I picked it up to see the message he sent me.
—Azhe, just now Zhao Zhou saw you and asked me to introduce her to you, so I brought her over.
—She's a very nice person, you two get along well.
I don't want to continue typing in the dialogue box.
As I was about to, someone grabbed my wrist.
Zhao Zhou's gaze fell on my chest, then subtly shifted away.
Just that one look brought back the past fear.
I forcefully pushed her hand away.
Even though there was nothing in my stomach, I couldn't help but vomit.
She leaned towards me and I slowly moved backward.
Dim lighting.
Strong scent of perfume.
Tall stranger.
Everything broke the last string of sanity in my mind.
I covered my mouth and vomited, trembling as I took out a spring knife from my bag.
My hand uncontrollably shook.
The knife cut through her skin, with blood slowly filling my entire world.
"Jiang Zhe!" A furious voice rang out and someone forcefully pushed my hand away.
The knife fell on the ground, reflecting the faint moonlight outside the window.
"What are you doing?!" Jiang Yu's voice thundered.
But it felt like my throat was being choked, veins on my forehead pulsating, as if something was about to explode in my mind.
I covered my mouth, dryness and pain in my eye sockets, panting like a little beast, gasping for air.
Tang Chu elegantly arrived in a tailcoat and exclaimed in shock when he saw what happened, with a hint of choking in his voice: "What happened?" "Zhao Zhou, how did you get hurt?" "Didn't you say you liked Azhe and wanted to talk to him?" The unfamiliar woman furrowed her brows.
"I didn't do anything, he suddenly took out a knife..." "Jieyu." Tang Chu suddenly called Jiang Yu's name.
"I still trust Zhao Zhou's character." The meaning behind his words was self-evident.
I gasped for air, extended my hand, and forcefully slapped him, but Jiang Yu, standing in front of him, pushed me away and I fell to the ground in a sorry state.
The three of them looked down on me.
My stomach hurt.
My eyes hurt.
My head hurt.
It felt like every part of my body hurt.
I was like a malfunctioning robot about to fall apart, my mind in chaos.
I heard Jiang Yu sternly scold, "What the hell are you doing?!" "Jiang Zhe." "Are you sick?" Jiang Zhe.
Are you sick? Are you- sick? I wanted to cry.
But I couldn't cry.
I could only support myself against the wall, enduring the intense pain, and slowly stood up from the ground.
"Yes." "I am sick." Soon, I'll be dead.
I leaned against the door, using all my strength to barely stand straight.
I knew my stomach was empty, nothing to vomit.
But now my throat felt sweet.
Sticky blood flowed out of my mouth, dripping onto my clothes and falling onto the floor.
I saw Jiang Yu hesitate for a moment.
I saw her instinctively wanting to come over and touch me.
But I took a step back.
"Why don't you ask me?" "Why don't you ask what she did to me?" "You're willing to believe Tang Chu's word but never want to listen to me, you never want to listen to me." "Because you never cared." "In the end, it's always my fault--" "Because I'm a sinner." "I owe my mother's life." "Is that so?" The scene suddenly fell silent.
My sister was just in a moment of panic.
Then she immediately calmed down.
I heard her calmly ask me with the same voice as usual, "Isn't it?".
Isn't it? "Yes." I still can't cry.
Even if my eyes hurt so much, not a single tear falls.
"So I will give my life for Mom right away." This is the last time I call her sister.
I look at Jiang Yu and smile: "I'm about to die." "Are you happy?" "Sister."
