Chapter 19:
I hurriedly got out of bed, stepping on the cold ground with bare feet, crossing an entire living room.
The study door was ajar, and there was still a light on inside.
When I pushed the door open, Shi Yu was on the phone with someone.
"Yes, the contract should follow the default format in the circle." His voice seemed to contain a hint of laughter, but his eyes were cold.
"Miss Lin is my brother's girlfriend, how could I let her suffer?" As he spoke, he absentmindedly fiddled with a butterfly knife between his fingers.
The blade reflected the light as it rotated, emitting a chilling glint.
"Alright, let Lu Huan Zhou not worry, I have a sense of proportion." He hung up the phone and with a click, closed the folding knife.
When he looked up and saw me standing at the door, breathing slightly heavily, he suddenly froze.
"Yin Yin, why aren't you wearing—" Before he could finish his sentence, I rushed over and threw myself into his arms.
The wound on his shoulder had not completely healed, but only a shallow mark remained.
Colliding with his chest, I felt a slight pain.
This sense of pain reminded me that I was still alive.
I did not dissipate into nothingness after the tragic fall in my previous life.
Even if all the plots replayed themselves, with my parents favoring Lu Huan Zhou, I wasn't as isolated and helpless as a floating piece of wood.
"Shi Yu, hold me tight," I said urgently.
He obediently wrapped his arms around my waist, not letting me fall.
And I raised my head, eagerly searching for his lips, then aggressively kissed him.
This kiss was hasty and rough, bordering on the primal biting of animals.
I even tasted a hint of blood.
However, Shi Yu did not resist, but rather indulged and obediently endured all of my outpouring emotions.
In the end, I pulled his tie and rubbed against his violently throbbing Adam's apple.
Breathless, I called out to him repeatedly, "Brother." "Brother." "...Holy s**t."
"He recoiled and took a breath of cold air, his body leaning back as he gritted his teeth and said, 'Yinyin, don't play like this, I don't want-' 'Why don't you want to?' I interrupted his words, inching closer.
'But I want to, Shiyu.' 'I want to make sure - that you still love me.'
