Chapter 15:
The next day, I prepared breakfast for my family.
They didn't find it strange because ever since I started cooking, I've been responsible for breakfast.
But today's breakfast was special.
I served congee and placed it in front of them.
My father looked at me for a moment, sighed a few times.
Perhaps knowing that I had exchanged for my brother, my mother's and grandmother's attitudes towards me had improved significantly.
I calmly watched them finish the congee.
In these porridges, I added quite a bit of sleeping pills.
Soon, the effects of the medicine kicked in.
They fell heavily onto the sofa and fell asleep.
I took out my father's cellphone.
I tried the unlock password and got it right.
The unlock password was my younger brother's birthday.
This is the first time I've held my father's phone.
The screensaver was a family portrait of the four of them, but I was notably missing.
I remembered that they were supposed to take a family portrait that day, but grandma asked me to stay home and cook.
But now, none of this matters.
These people are going to disappear from my life.
In my father's phone, I found his conversation with the organ trafficker.
It turns out they agreed to send me away today.
My father wants to sell three organs on my body: the heart, kidneys, and corneas.
I typed a few words: [I still can't bring myself to harm my daughter.
How about you sell all three of our organs.] [I will leave the money to my son and daughter for a good life.] [I have given sleeping pills to my wife and mother, and I have taken them myself.
Just come to my house directly.] After typing these words, I put the phone aside.
Then I packed my luggage and took one last look at them before leaving home.
Goodbye.
Mom and dad, as well as grandma.
I walked out with a great burden lifted off my shoulders.
At that moment, all the hatred and pain vanished in an instant as I closed the door.
