Chapter 2:
The old men shrunk their necks and dared not speak anymore.
Someone nearby couldn't bear it and interjected, "Wow, you're such a fierce tour guide!"
"Yeah, grandpa, don't be afraid, you can complain about her.
Which tour group are you from?" I turned my head and saw a group of beautiful and youthful college students, around the same age as me and Jiang Haoyan.
Each of them was carrying an easel, clearly art students out painting.
Among them, there was a delicate and slender girl who kept glancing at Jiang Haoyan.
"I'm Wu Duo, where are you guys going?" Jiang Haoyan glanced at her indifferently, walked over to my side, and nodded at Wu Duo.
"We're going to Gao Yi Village." Wu Duo was shocked, her face showing a frightened expression.
She quickly closed her mouth and walked to the side, not daring to speak to me again.
Gao Yi Village was surrounded by mountains on three sides and water on one side.
It looked like a high-backed chair from a distance, thus earning it the name Gao Yi Village.
The people in this village used to rely on corpse chasing as their livelihood.
Corpse chasing always carried a mysterious aura, and the people nearby respected and feared this village, rarely interacting with them.
Wu Duo's reaction indicated that she must be from a place near Gao Yi Village.
I didn't pay attention to her and boarded the bus with the elderly group.
Gao Yi Village was located in a remote area, and we spent almost the entire day on the road.
First, we took a bus, then transferred to a tricycle, and later on, the road became narrow and difficult to pass, so we had to rent local donkeys to enter the mountain.
Jiang Haoyan, Liu Xiong, and the seven of us made a total of nine people, with Liu Xiong's four bodyguards, but we only had five donkeys.
In the end, we decided to leave a few bodyguards outside to pick us up, while the rest of us rode the donkeys into the mountains.
The sunset unknowingly disappeared behind us, and in the gray mist, a dilapidated cottage appeared.
The house was made of wood, and there was a huge locust tree planted next to it.
The tree's shadow cast on the open door, obstructing most of the pale light coming from inside.
Seeing the two white lanterns hanging at the door, I let out a sigh of relief and waved at them.
"We've arrived, we'll stay here tonight."
