Chapter 6:
After the wedding, Song Yuanlin took Ji Qing back to their new home.
I unintentionally eavesdropped on their conversation, but there was no way to avoid it.
Luckily, he didn't intend to do anything and absentmindedly comforted Ji Qing before heading to the study.
"I have some matters to attend to, you go ahead and sleep." Spending the wedding night alone was naturally not something Ji Qing was happy about.
Pouting with her mouth, she kicked off her high heels and said, "Song Yuanlin, I'm angry." This is probably the result of being favored and confident.
I never dare to express my emotions like this because when Ji Qing is angry, Song Yuanlin will coax her.
But when I'm angry, no one will pay attention.
I came into this world alone, and I will leave alone.
No one noticed my disappearance, and no one will remember who I am.
It's strange, even though people die, there's still a cold wind howling in some corner of my heart.
As expected, Song Yuanlin patiently comforted Ji Qing with a few soft words.
He was already quite handsome, and with just a few sweet nothings, she was smitten.
By the time they arrived at the study, it was already late at night.
Seeing the unanswered messages in his chat box, Song Yuanlin's face darkened.
But he wasn't worried about my absence.
He was simply angry that his pampered canary would dare to defy him.
That night, I couldn't sleep at all.
Restlessly pacing in my room, I looked at Song Yuanlin sitting not far away, wishing I could choke him.
But I probably don't have the talent for being a ghost, as my fingers passed right through his body.
Song Yuanlin also didn't sleep well, leaning back in the study's armchair deep in thought for half the night.
When morning came, he took out some pills from the drawer and swallowed them without water.
I secretly checked and found that they were a type of antidepressant medication.
Cheng Ming mentioned that the simultaneous deaths of his parents had a big impact on Song Yuanlin.
During his years abroad, he didn't live as brightly as he appeared on the surface.
He just got used to not saying anything, letting despair and restlessness siege his heart.
Not sparing himself, nor sparing me.
After a fight one time, I made a deep cut on my wrist and resolutely stared at the cold ceiling, calling him.
"I will give you your life back, just leave me alone and leave yourself alone too." Only a cold laugh came through the phone.
"If you dare to die, your mom won't have to live either." He always liked to threaten me like this.
My thoughts snapped back.
I twisted the wet clothes in my hands and looked up just in time to see the faint morning light seeping through the window crack.
Wow, it's already bright outside.
