Chapter 8:
"What do you mean?" I frowned and looked at Nan Zhe.
His gaze deepened, and with an inexplicable expression, he handed me the phone again, saying, "Literal meaning." I took it and looked closely.
In the comment section where I intended to reply with "It's a misunderstanding," there was now a glaringly prominent word—"Yes." I originally wanted to reply, but as soon as I typed the word "Yes," Nan Zhe snatched my phone again.
The most suffocating thing was that the ID displayed "Nan Zhe." This comment quickly became one of the top comments within a few minutes.
A string of replies followed, saying, "The main characters have officially announced it themselves, it's confirmed!" I looked blankly at Nan Zhe.
He explained, "I accidentally sent it when I took your phone." "No, the problem is, who would use their real name when registering on the school forum?!" I said with a slightly frustrated tone.
He innocently blinked his eyes and said, "I'm just an honest person." "How come you weren't this honest when you blamed me for your mistakes before?!" I gritted my teeth and said, "What do we do now? Everyone thinks we're really a couple, and it's too late to find someone to delete the post." Unexpectedly, Nan Zhe shrugged as if enjoying the show and said, "Hey, you were the one who mistook me for someone else and kissed me.
Solve the problem you caused yourself." I felt a bit guilty.
It's all because of that debuff.
"But now we two are misunderstood.
Aren't you afraid that I will block your peach blossom?" Nan Zhe's eyes flashed slightly, and he slowly said, "I can't ask for it." I was stunned for a moment.
"I'm not interested in dating right now.
It wouldn't be bad to have a free shield." He paused for a few seconds and added.
He actually dares to use me as a shield?! His indifferent tone stimulated me.
Just now, I almost misunderstood that he wanted to have a relationship with me.
It must be that kiss that messed with my nerves.
Nan Zhe and I have been enemies since childhood.
How could he possibly be interested in me? "You don't want to date, but I do.
I will find a way to explain it myself.
You can find someone else to be your shield." I replied in a cold tone, unable to restrain myself.
Nan Zhe smiled ambiguously, his tone slightly sinking, "Who do you want to date, Xu Jiahe?" I lowered my head and looked for the administrator to delete the post, casually saying, "It's none of your business." "Alright." He responded, but I was busy typing and didn't see his expression.
After a sound of the chair rubbing against the floor, Nan Zhe strode away from the medical room.
"It's inexplicable.
Why is he angry?" I muttered softly.
The post was successfully deleted, hopefully reducing the gossip.
The sound of message notifications kept ringing.
Without guessing, I knew it was from my roommates.
I clicked and indeed, they were all questioning why I didn't tell them that I knew Nan Zhe, and even secretly dating.
I replied to all of them, "We were classmates before, but not close.
It was really just an accidental kiss." Tian Tian quickly replied, "I'm so hooked, and you actually told me we're not close?! I give you one week to get Nan Zhe, don't let anyone ruin my shipping! I said it!" "You're so domineering." I no longer paid attention to her following crazy remarks.
Because I unexpectedly discovered that Xu Jiahe had also messaged me.
Xu Senior: "Qu Xiaomei, are you feeling better?" "Much better." I politely replied.
I didn't expect him to care about me.
Unexpectedly, he also quickly replied, "That's good, take care and rest more." I sent a cat emoji with the word "received" and thought the conversation was over.
But Xu Jiahe replied again.
Xu Senior: "Are you and Nan Zhe...
dating?" Suddenly, I recalled that last week while chatting with Xu Jiahe, I said I was single.
I hurried to explain, "No, we're just former classmates.
It was an accident." Xu Senior: "I see!" Xu Senior: "You said you wanted to watch a suspense movie last time.
There happens to be a premiere of a suspense film next Saturday.
Shall we go together?" "Oh, is it that highly anticipated 'Broken Sky'? Great, I've been wanting to watch it for a long time." I readily agreed.
I had already asked my roommates, but they were all busy next Saturday.
I was worried that I wouldn't have anyone to accompany me.
Xu Senior: "See you next Saturday."
