Chapter 39:
Gambling with a Beauty
"How do you want to play?" Noah focused his gaze on Benjamin.
He had been waiting for Benjamin to make a move, and now it finally came.
"How much money do you have?" Benjamin asked.
Noah glanced at the money on the table and said, "Probably over a million." "I think you have more than that," Benjamin shook his head and pointed to the woman behind Noah, "She's your woman, why not include her jewelry as well?"
Noah turned to look at the woman and then back at Benjamin.
Honestly, he still couldn't see through Benjamin.
Starting off with such a big bet was something he had never encountered before, so he hesitated.
"You have quite the appetite, but do you have enough money to gamble?"
"No," Benjamin answered firmly.
"Then what do you have to bet against me?" Noah furrowed his brows, unable to read Benjamin at all.
"Her," Benjamin pointed at Isabella.
"Her?" Noah looked at Isabella, still not understanding Benjamin's meaning.
"Do you think she's worth that much money?" Benjamin asked.
Noah's brows furrowed even tighter, but soon he started laughing again.
"Of course Isabella is worth that price.
But can you truly control her?"
"“You can ask her,” Benjamin said.
Noah turned to Isabella and asked, "He wants to use you as a stake, do you agree?" If it were someone else who wanted to use herself as a stake, Isabella would have murderous intentions.
But now, it is Benjamin who wants to use her as a stake, so it's different.
She remained composed and confident, looking at Benjamin with a smile and said, "I trust him." "Okay," Noah said as he reached behind the woman for all her jewelry and the money on the table, pushing them to the center of the table, "Let's play big this time!" The old man realized that Benjamin intentionally ignited the conflict between him and Noah, so he chose to watch from the sidelines.
"Sorry, I don't have that much money, I'm out," Benjamin ignored the old man and smiled at Noah, "I'm betting with a live person.
Can I deal?" "No.
We should find a third person to deal, this way it's fairer," Noah was very cautious.
In front of someone he couldn't see through, he couldn't afford to be careless.
He pointed at the old man and said, "How about him dealing?" "Alright," Benjamin shrugged.
Isabella, upon hearing that the old man would deal, immediately reached out and squeezed Benjamin's shoulder.
Since she owned a big bar, she had seen all kinds of people.
As soon as she entered, she noticed the old man and after observing him for a while, she determined that he was in cahoots with Noah.
"It's alright, trust me," Benjamin reached out and gently patted Isabella's hand.
Feeling Benjamin's confidence, Isabella's nervousness subsided and she withdrew her hand.
Benjamin smiled at the old man and said, "Deal the cards." The old man did indeed work with Noah, both cheats.
Seeing Benjamin's confidence, he couldn't help but hesitate.
He glanced at Noah secretly and only began dealing the cards after receiving a signal from him.
Noah picked up the cards and saw three Aces.
He laughed lightly, nodding satisfactorily at the old man.
These are the best hands, there's nothing better.
Victory was within his grasp and he proudly said to Benjamin, "This time, you've definitely lost.
Isabella is mine." Benjamin took a look at his cards - Two, Three, Five, mixed suits.
These were the smallest cards.
Isabella, standing behind him, saw his cards and her nervousness returned.
She placed her hand on Benjamin's shoulder again.
But Benjamin remained unfazed and did not comfort Isabella.
He said to Noah, "Who wins and who loses is still uncertain." Noah noticed Isabella's nervous action earlier, which made him even more confident.
The opponent's cards definitely couldn't beat his own.
"Then, please reveal your cards," he said.
"Sure," Benjamin gently flipped the cards and placed them on the table.
Everyone present stared at the cards on the table in astonishment."
Isabella clearly saw that Benjamin's hand had the cards two, three, and five, but now there were three aces on the table.
It was like magic, and she couldn't figure out how he did it.
Benjamin smiled and said, "I don't believe you have any cards bigger than three aces.
If you do, then it's a wild card." Noah couldn't believe it and looked at his own cards.
It was true, he had three aces in his hand, but there were also three aces on the table in front of the elderly man.
He glanced at the old man in confusion, who was also staring at the cards on the table, unable to understand what was happening.
"Let's reveal the cards," Benjamin urged.
Noah folded his cards, there was no way to reveal them.
The place belonged to him, the cards belonged to him, and he had chosen the dealer himself.
A deck of cards only had four aces, so if the cards were revealed, it would undoubtedly prove that he cheated.
He knew he had encountered someone extraordinary today, so he sighed heavily, stared at Benjamin, and said, "What's your name, brother?" "My surname is Gao, and my given name is Feng," Benjamin said.
"So you're the famous detective Benjamin?" Noah looked at Benjamin in astonishment, then turned to Isabella, blaming himself for not thinking earlier.
Besides Benjamin, who else could invite the renowned Isabella and make her willing to be a bet? He sighed again and stared at the money on the table.
"I admit defeat this time, they're all yours." Benjamin stood up and took the necklace and one hundred thousand yuan from the pile of money, leaving the rest on the table.
"I only want these, the rest is yours." "Why?" Noah frowned at Benjamin.
If he didn't come today to ruin his establishment, then what did he want? "I want to ask you for a favor in the future.
I may need you to go to the police station and point out the person who gave you the necklace." Noah understood Benjamin's intention.
Although he didn't know what the person who gave him the necklace had done, he nodded in agreement.
"I hate dealing with the police the most in my life, but today I've made you my friend.
For a friend, I'm willing to go to the police station." "Thank you in advance." "You're welcome!" Benjamin exchanged a few more polite words with Noah and then left the casino with Isabella.
While waiting for a taxi outside the restaurant, Isabella couldn't help but ask, "It was truly amazing just now.
How did you do it?" "Are you referring to the cards in my hand?" Benjamin asked in return.
"Yes.
I clearly saw that the cards were two, three, and five.
How did you turn them into three aces?" "Remember how I was constantly folding the cards?" "Yes." "I actually had three aces hidden in my hand, just waiting for this final round." Benjamin said, spreading his right hand and once again magically producing three cards.
"These are the cards that were dealt to me in the final hand."
"Isabella looked at the two, three, and five in Benjamin's hand and smiled, 'Noah definitely wouldn't have thought that he would have such a big fall today.' Benjamin smiled lightly and said, 'I have something to do, so I won't send you back.' 'Alright, remember to come to me for a drink after the case is solved,' Isabella didn't stop Benjamin.
Being able to come out with him already satisfied her.
'Don't worry, I never miss out on free drinks,' Benjamin returned the 100,000 yuan to Isabella and then they each took separate cars and left.
